The Lord Reveals Himself by the Spirit

"The Holy Spirit unveils the deep things of God in order to involve us as participants in supernatural events."

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has imagined what God has prepared for
those who love Him." But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit. For His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God's deep secrets.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 NLT


DISCUSSION:
The Spirit of God is willing to reveal Himself, the Father, Jesus, and Himself to us. This week we will discuss 1 Corinthians 2:10, which expresses that the Spirit is the One Who shows us Who God is and reveals the deep things of God. So our subject this week will be how the Lord reveals Himself by the Spirit.

In my youth, I went to church twice a week, tithed, was baptized, and participated in all the events, believing that doing all of this would get me to Heaven. Meanwhile, I did not witness the reality of God in these people's lives. What shocked me was there was no difference between what was happening in the church and the world. There was no transformation or practicality to anything they did, so I was never really interested in being in the ministry. Even though the Lord had told me that I was called to his service, I did not want to be part of a powerless religion. When I got saved at 19, the Lord revealed that we could have a supernatural life in this life here on earth. For this reason, I am passionate about what I do.

You are called to move into this supernatural lifestyle that God has for you.

• You do not have work to cause a supernatural event to happen.

• Abraham and many others in the Bible simply believed God and lived for Him, which is all you have to do.

• Just move toward God by verbally committing to Him and living by faith.

• It is not your responsibility to perform miracles; God is the One Who does them because He is supernatural.

• Though we are natural human beings stuck in this broken world, we become ignited through the born-again experience.

• We are made brand new, and our spirits become ignited. So we are spiritual beings that are in a natural body.

• We need the Holy Spirit to help us.

1 Corinthians 2:10 says that God revealed His mysteries by His Spirit. The Holy Spirit searches out God's heart and shows us His deep secrets. Paul explained that what was hidden in times past is being revealed in these end times.

The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colossians 1:26-27

So the mystery of the ages has been revealed through the Spirit. When you were born again, your spiritual eyes and ears were open. Transformation begins in your heart, and then after a while, you realize you have to change your thinking and subdue your body's fleshly desires. So you must coach your body and essentially frame your mind into thinking correctly.

But when the Truth-giving Spirit comes, He will unveil the reality of every truth within you. He won't speak on His own, but only what He hears from the Father, and He will reveal prophetically to you what is to come.
John 16:13 TPT

The assignment of the Holy Spirit is to "unveil the reality of every truth within you." The Truth-giving Spirit has been given to the disciples and all of us reading the account in John. The Holy Spirit unveils the deep things of God in order to involve us as participants in supernatural events.

And to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God Who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 3:9-11

Concerning the deep things of God, if you read what Paul was talking about in Ephesians and Colossians especially, he talks about the mystery of the ages being revealed. He expresses the revelation of the body of Christ, of Jesus's body, the true Church on earth. He explains that through corporate unity, God's Church being built up together, the manifold wisdom of God would be revealed even to the heavenly realms. In other words, we are teaching and making the demonic realm aware of the power of God; we are expressing that in this age, God is bringing mankind back together through His Church. You may have grown up hearing about God and going to church, but in reality, we are the church. Church is not just something we hear about or talk about; it is who we are.

Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, "What shall we do? For this man works many signs. If we let Him alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation." Then, from that day on, they plotted to put Him to death.
John 11:47-48, 53

When Jesus revealed His message on the earth, the Pharisees had a fit because the attention was shifted off the establishment, the synagogues, and their power, and it was being placed back on the people. Governments constantly become corrupted because they are created to serve the people, but when they become powerful, they start trying to restrict people in what to do and say. People end up having to rebel when governments become authoritarian dictatorships. The same corruption existed at the time of Jesus, so He had to demonstrate that God's way was to serve the people.

o Why was there such a clash between Jesus and the Pharisees?

UNVEILING THE REALITY WITHIN US

Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.

You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

John 4:21-24

Jesus expressed that those who worship God will worship Him in spirit and truth, not on a specific mountain. In other words, the boundaries that religious men had put on the people of Israel were being taken off by Jesus's teaching. In this verse, Jesus explains that when the Spirit comes, He will unveil the reality that is already within us, not that when the Pharisees come or when the law comes. Well, how could reality be within us? It's because the Spirit came in and caused people's hearts to be renewed. Jesus prophesied the new birth, telling the people the truth would be within them. He foretold that the Holy Spirit would dwell in you, so you would hear Him speak to you.

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

John 16:13-14

Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner."

John 5:19

For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father Who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.

John 12:49-50

The message that the Spirit reveals is not His own but repeated from the Father. When Jesus was on the earth, His message was not spoken on His own accord, either. He only spoke what the Father said and did what the Father did. Jesus prophetically revealed to us what was to come.

The role of the Holy Spirit in our lives:

• The Holy Spirit will prophetically speak what God is saying to us and tell us what will take place in the future.

• If you are born again, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, is inside you and reveals the truth.

• The Holy Spirit only speaks the truth. In this day of deception, lying, stealing, and cheating that we live in, it's going to be obvious when God comes in by His Spirit and speaks truth.

• We can trust the Holy Spirit as we trust God the Father and Jesus. We can rely on every word He speaks, for He will talk to us about our Heavenly Father.

• The Holy Spirit reveals the Father's plans and instructs us by unveiling strategy from Heaven.

The Holy Spirit gives revelation to prepare us ahead for what will happen. He leads us by nudging us in the right direction.

OVERCOMING THE RELIGIOUS SPIRIT

The religious denominations that we have today seemed to have started off right, then after a while, they got off track. The focus became more on money and their own agenda and less on God and His agenda, which means that people are left out. I noticed that there was no change in people's lives in these religious denominations. They no longer offered what the Spirit was saying, but instead, traditions of man. Jesus had to deal with the same religious spirit in the Pharisees while He earth.

Today we have to stand up and say, "Listen, we've got to stop this! We must preach the truth, which is able to help people." Jesus got kicked out of the synagogues, so He went out, taught in the fields, and healed the sick. He ministered by serving the people without a church building. He went into people's homes. I encourage you to rest in your heart, knowing that having fellowships and Bible studies in our homes causes us to grow together as a family that takes care of each other. Pray for people, heal the sick, provide food for the hungry, and provide fellowship for the lonely.

PRAYER:

Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for all my family all over the world. By the power of the Spirit, thank You for encouraging everyone to speak out. Help us to let the Holy Spirit dictate and tell us what You are saying. Father, reveal the deep things of Your heart to us. Holy Spirit, have Your way with teaching us, guiding us, giving us understanding, and encouraging us in all of Your ways. Lord, I pray for supernatural provision for every person. God, I believe that You will just show up miraculously and provide, in the name of Jesus. Father, I pray that you would heal each one by Your Spirit. Send Your word to their homes and heal the sick right now.
